Career Day Update: Mission Accomplished 🚀

Last week, I shared my plan for bring ChatGPT + InVideo to my daughter's classroom — because while I don’t drive an ambulance or fight fires, I do help people solve complex problems using creativity, collaboration, and a bit of tech wizardry. 🔧✨

The real magic? It wasn’t the flashy tools. It was watching a group of 7-year-olds absolutely nail the fundamentals of teamwork and innovation.

We kicked things off by designing a science experiment and mission to the Moon — together, as a class. I asked them to come up with:

  • An idea for a space experiment

  • A creative mission name

  • What challenges they might face out there in the stars 🌕

Let me tell you… these kids DELIVERED.

Top experiments included:

🛻 Building a space car

🎮 Inventing a new game called Moon Tag

💧 Testing what happens to water in space

Their mission names?

“Antigravity Drive”, “Mission Moon Tag”, and other gems I’m definitely saving for my next sci-fi screenplay.

We also got into real problem-solving:

⚡ How do you power a space car?

🚫 What are the rules of tag in microgravity?

👽 And yes — how do you negotiate with a banana-shaped, three-eyed alien?

The best part was seeing how they had to collaborate on the fly — nominating ideas, voting, and (occasionally) settling creative disputes via rock-paper-scissors. Highly efficient. No meetings required. 😎

Once we had our ideas, I showed them how a simple GenAI prompt could turn imagination into a video — right before their eyes. Watching them connect the dots between their creativity and the power of this new technology? Honestly, that was the real win.

Create a short video no more than 60 seconds geared towards elementary school aged children about a moon space science experiment to make space cars on the moon based on these principles: https://www.nasa.gov/artemis-accords/ that will be named Antigravity Drive. Our mission guide should be our mom. Our team will be our 3rd grade classmates from https://www.cobbk12.org/brumby/. We think we'll run into problems like energy for the cars, aliens that are green, red and orange, have antenna eyes. Ask the kids how they might solve these issues using the scientific method: https://www.linkedin.com/advice/3/how-can-you-apply-scientific-method-everyday-problem-2tfxe#:~:text=1)%20Identify%20the%20problem:%20Clearly,results:%20Share%20findings%20with%20others.

This experience was a masterclass (from 7-year-olds!) in:

✅ Teamwork

✅ Communication

✅ Prioritization

✅ Creativity

✅ Negotiation

All the same skills that will be essential as we continue to explore and evolve with GenAI in the real world.

Mission: inspired.

Future: bright.

Aliens: still negotiable. 👽
